EMDR Therapy and Therapy Intensives, for Anxiety, Relationship Issues, and PTSD

For men and women feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, and burdened by unresolved trauma, Solum Life Therapy offers personalized therapy solutions, including EMDR therapy intensives, online therapy, and holistic approaches. I can help you break free from stress, anxiety, and negative self-beliefs by getting to the root of your emotional struggles, allowing you to regain control, reconnect with yourself, and experience lasting relief. My approach is culturally affirming and delivered in a personable way to those seeking deep emotional healing and a more fulfilling life.

Are you feeling lost and overwhelmed?

You’re constantly on the go, overcommitted with responsibilities, and trying to meet everyone’s expectations. But deep down, something feels off. You’ve lost touch with what truly matters to you. You can’t remember the last time you prioritized yourself, and you feel disconnected from your own emotions—maybe you’re not even sure what you enjoy anymore.

Does this sound familiar? You’re not alone. Many of my clients are high achievers who are stressed, overwhelmed, and unsure how to take care of themselves amidst the hustle. They often feel like they’re just going through the motions, packing their schedules with obligations while feeling more disconnected and lost. Relationship issues are common—whether it’s in their romantic relationships or their relationship with work, something always feels strained.

Getting to the Root of It
For many, this constant busyness and stress are more than just a hectic life. It can be a protective response—an automatic way of avoiding deeper pain, unresolved trauma, or uncomfortable emotions. Often, my clients were emotionally neglected as children, raised by parents who were busy, working multiple jobs, or simply unavailable. This creates a missing link—a deep uncertainty about how to connect with others without the fear of being hurt.

At Solum Life Therapy, I help you explore the underlying causes of your stress, relationship struggles, and disconnection. Whether it’s a trauma response, avoidance, or something else entirely, we’ll work together to uncover the root and begin healing in a way that feels safe and supportive for you. You don’t have to keep running on autopilot—we’ll get to the heart of it so you can finally feel connected, alive, and at peace.

“Barbara is fantastic. She’s very empathetic and understanding and well versed in practical knowledge that helps. I’m very glad I found Barbara.” - K.E.

“Barbara is an incredible therapist. She makes me feel truly supported & cared for, unlike past therapists that have been cold & aloof. I love her spiritual approach & I feel like finding her was fate. Thanks Barbara, you’re the best!” - E.

“I was new to online counseling, and counseling in general, and Barbara made me feel comfortable sharing my story from day one. Within the first few months I have seen tremendous improvement with my anxiety and in my everyday life. I have been with Barbara talking almost every week for over a year and I am so happy I found someone so understanding and knowledgeable.” -S.M.

“I'm new to online counseling and was nervous with who I would be matched with. I absolutely love my counselor. In just 3 sessions I feel a difference with using some of her suggestions.” -V.I.

“Barbara helped me to see angles of my life that I could not see myself and was an incredibly soothing presence. I am very thankful for our work together.” - S.M.

“I had one of the most positive transformations of my life during the six months I was in therapy with Barbara. I came to work with her because I was experiencing pervasive anxiety. Through EMDR, listening and compassion, she helped me identify, work through and manage the trauma of my past that was causing me unresolved emotional and physical pain. It is nearly impossible to find a therapist that understands women of color and is LGBTQ-friendly, much less one that is easy-going and highly experienced. Regardless of why you’re seeking a therapist, Barbara is a professional, skilled and kind therapist that will give you the space to heal and transform.” - C.G.
